OpenBMB has released MiniCPM5-2B, a new open-weights language model that achieves a score of 15 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v4.2, marking the highest score among open-weight models at 4B parameters or below. The model is available on Hugging Face, with the accompanying codebase hosted on GitHub. This release highlights continued progress in efficient small-model performance within the open-source LLM ecosystem.
