Kimi AI and kvcache-ai have open-sourced AgentENV under the MIT license to enhance environment throughput for agentic reinforcement learning (RL) training. Designed for Kimi K3, this distributed system utilizes Firecracker microVMs rather than containers to provide kernel-level isolation for each sandbox. This infrastructure aims to address the environment-side bottlenecks in the agentic RL stack.
